Joint Powers Agencies

Instructions for JPA list

This list is in Microsoft Excel. You must have that software on your computer. Familiarity with Excel will be very helpful.

This list is organized by type of JPA and county. By clicking the arrow by county name, all the JPAs for that county will be listed and may be printed out.

However, for JPAs that cross multiple counties, the listing will be only for one county, perhaps the first alphabetically, the headquarter's location, or the original member. So it is recommended when searching for JPAs for a specific county, you might also look at neighboring counties for possible joint agencies. Example, the Central Sierra Economic Development District (CSEDD), an agency of six counties and seven cities, is listed under Amador County, the first in the alphabetical list of member counties. There is also a second sheet to the file showing a summary of districts by type and county.

You may also use the filter button on the name column to search for agencies by title.

We provide no assurance that all JPAs are listed as not all file with the Secretary of State.
