Why should you join CGJA?
- To be part of a statewide organization that shares your ideals and concern for preserving and protecting the civil grand jury system in California
- To promote the programs of CGJA, including public education, widespread dissemination of grand jury reports, and juror recruitment
- To support the resources offered by CGJA, including juror training, jury resources, legal questions, and juror recruitment ideas
- Fellowship at CGJA’s Annual Conference and Membership Meeting

- The conference is held each fall and rotates to various locations throughout California
CGJA’s Scope of Activities:
- CGJA represents the civil grand jury system in California at the county and state level
Individual CGJA Members:
- Members support the association through dues and volunteer activities
- Joining CGJA allows you to continue to serve your community
- CGJA needs your support and involvement to ensure that the civil grand jury system in California continues to be effective
CGJA Chapters:
- Joining a chapter provides you the opportunity to continue relationships with former jurors in your county and stay involved with community issues
- Chapter membership allows you to continue your service to the community through juror recruiting and promoting public awareness of the civil grand jury system
CGJA Committees:
For those who want a broader experience there are committees and activities that support CGJA’s Mission and Purpose:
- Training of new jurors in most California counties
- Educating the public through publications such as the Civil Grand Jury System book, maintaining a website with many resources and current news about civil grand juries, and maintaining a social media presence
- Legislative and Legal Resources Committeeto monitor legislative activity and respond to inquiries about grand jury law
- Excellence in Reporting Awards and Certificates of Special Recognition
- Coordination of support activities
