2024 CGJA Report Writing Workshops

CGJA is offering one-day Report Writing Workshops for civil grand jurors starting in mid-to-late October of 2024. The workshops will begin at 9:00am and end at to 4:00pm. Grand juries that want to schedule an individual workshop, either in-person or remotely, for their entire grand jury can arrange that by contacting us at cgjatraining@cgja.org.  Additional multi-county workshops will be offered remotely using Zoom on dates to be determined. Registration for those workshops will be available here once the dates have been established.

Report Writing Workshop Content

CGJA conducts report writing workshops to expand on the information presented at the regular civil grand jury training seminars. These workshops provide in-depth coverage of such topics as the content of reports; facts, findings, and recommendations; tips on how to use compelling language; reviewing and editing reports; conducting exit interviews to verify findings; and the process and requirements for the approval and release of individual final reports. These workshops provide helpful tools enabling grand juries to improve the quality, readability, accuracy, and effectiveness of their reports. Hands-on exercises will provide practice in developing effective findings and recommendations.

The cost for the workshop is $50 per person or $900 per county (up to 19 people) for remote training, and $1,600 per county (up to 19 people) for in-person training. The fees include a workshop training manual for each attendee.

Note: If using the online form, only one of the workshop dates can be chosen for up to 12 enrollees. If other dates are desired, a separate form must be submitted for each workshop date.
