The San Diego Union-Tribune ran a piece on July 17, 2024 by David Garrick, noting that, ‘Instead of trying to avoid liability, San Diego needs to assess its 4,500 miles of sidewalks more frequently, and spend more on repairs,’ [according to the new report published by the county’s civil grand jury]. ‘The 19-page report says that San Diego should treat its sidewalks similar to its streets, which get comprehensively assessed, funded and prioritized for repairs every few years.
